The Brief

Renewing the courtyard hedging

The buxus hedging that borders the central lawn at Wimbledon High School had died back, leaving brown, bare and patchy plants along the courtyard’s gravel paths. GCS Services Ltd was instructed to remove the failing hedge, take all waste away from site and replant the border with a healthy, evergreen alternative, with minimal disruption to the school day.

Why Euonymus ‘Green Spire’?

Green Spire gives the formal, clipped look of box without box’s common problems with blight and box tree caterpillar. It is evergreen, naturally upright and narrow, ideal for tight borders beside paths, and needs only a light trim to stay neat.
