The Brief

What we were asked to do

Bicester Community Hospital’s white render had dulled to a patchy grey, with dark streaking on the entrance gable and green and black algae along the base of the render panels. GCS Services Ltd was instructed to soft wash all first-floor render on the front and car park elevations, completed in a single day while the hospital stayed fully open.

Finished Result

A clean first impression

Low-pressure biocide treatment kills organic growth at the root, so the render is left bright and even, with a residual treatment that slows regrowth.

Why soft washing?

High-pressure washing can erode render, force water behind it and strip its finish. Soft washing uses low pressure and a biocide solution to kill growth at the root, then rinses it away gently. The result lasts longer, protects the render and avoids costly repairs, and with no scaffold needed, it keeps disruption on a live site to a minimum.
